The Miller Racing Story

It started with a dream and a car....

Miller Racing was started in 1995 in a small one car garage. At that time we had a couple of goals that we wanted to accomplish

Number 1, winning that first race

Number 2, winning that first championship

Number 3, earning the racing worlds respect

15 years later the goals have changed very little, we have accomplished those goals we set for ourselfs, and set new ones. When Miller Racing was founded we wanted to win, that hasn't changed in 15 years and never will. Jimmy's Dad and co-owner of Miller Racing, Jim Miller, started in the “S” class at Coles County Speedway (C.C.S.) in 1995, Jim is a multi time top ten National Modified Midget Association (N.M.M.A.) national finisher, finishing in the top 10 in the national standings 8 times out of 11 years and never finishing outside of the top 15. Then in 2001 Miller Racing became a 2 car team with Jim and Jimmy both driving. In 2003 Jim retired from driving and turned it over to his son Jimmy. With Jimmy handling the driving duties we have had a lot of success in a small amount of time. Jimmy started out in the Jr.Sprint class from 2001 to 2003, learning the basics of racing and more importantly winning, getting that first win at the NMMA Easterns and his first top 5 finish at a national event with a 5th place finish racing some of the best the eastern United States had to offer. Then in 2004 Jimmy started driving the #95 Miller Racing micro sprint made famous by his dad. Under Jim Miller's careful guidance he ended the season with a top 5 in the “S” class at C.C.S. Then in 2005 we had our break out year, Jimmy started running the “R” Class. 2005 was a big year for us with a 2nd place finish in points at C.C.S. and a 15th place finish in N.M.M.A. national points. 2006 was another huge year for us. Some of the highlights are winning the Hard Charger Award at the N.M.M.A Nationals at C.C.S. with a 5th place finish after starting 18th in the A-Main event. We rounded out 2006 with another 2nd place finish in C.C.S. points and getting 6th place in N.M.M.A national points. In 2007 we started running the premier “M” class at C.C.S. racing some of the best Coles County had to offer Jimmy earned a 5th place finish in track points. In 2008 with a full year under our belts we fought for a 3rd place finish in track points beating 4th place by a slim 31 points. The 2009 season marks the 15th anniversary of racing for our organization and we are not lifting off the gas. For the 2009 season Miller Racing is going after that first points title, and we would like your support and help in going after this very attainable goal
